Rostrum Song

Sung to the tune "Men of Harlech"

Rostrum folk now send you greeting,

'Cross Australia we are meeting

Practicing effective speaking

As our chosen task.

When by folk surrounded,

Don't you be confounded,

You'll impress, if you express

Your words the way that Rostrum has propounded.

Many years in straight succession

We've practiced skills of self-expression.

No more nerves and no depression,

Rostrum shows the way.

After Sidney Wicks example,

We have fellowship so ample;

Everyone may come and sample.

Welcome - Come along.

Aim for truth in speaking,

Clarity in speaking.

Persuade, inform and en-ter-tain

And you'll become a most effective speaker.

Critics, too, will aid your progress,

Don't be afraid that they will oppress.

Remember of your speaking prowess,

Rostrum showed the way.

This is sung to the tune "Men of Harlech"
